艾德華．杰．愛普斯汀（Edward Jay Epstein）

於康乃爾大學與哈佛大學修習政治學，並在一九七三年於哈佛大學取得政治學博士學位。他的碩士論文是研究政治真相，而博士論文則是研究電視新聞，兩本論文皆有出版。他曾在麻省理工學院與加州大學洛杉磯分校教授政治科學，但後來卻決定從事寫作，因為他認為寫作更像是一椿教育事業。《好萊塢電影經濟的內幕》是艾德華將在《頁岩》雜誌（Slate）中發表的專欄集結成冊，而本書是他的第十四本著作。他現正住在紐約市。
