Terri Couwenhoven

是「美國性教育師、諮詢師及治療師聯合協會」
(American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, AASECT)
認證的性教育師，同時也是唐氏症孩子的母親。
另外，她還擔任威斯康辛兒童醫院唐氏症者臨床協商工作人員。

她具備長期的性教育相關工作經驗，
包括：為各種年齡層的智障者及其家庭開設性教育工作坊、
提供性議題的相關服務與諮詢。

她的著作包括有：《青春期智障者的親子性教育課程》
(Beginnings: A Parent/Child Sexuality Program for
Families with Puberty-Aged Children with Developmental Disabilities)、
《青少年性與生活技能教學指南》(Teen-to-Teen: A Sexuality
and Life Skills Teaching System for Teens)、《女孩成長指南》(The Girls€?Guide to Growing Up)、
《男孩成長指南》(The Boys€?Guide to Growing Up)等。

本書《智能障礙者的性教育：誰來教？教什麼？如何教？》
(Teaching Children with Down Syndrome about Their Bodies, Boundaries,
and Sexuality: A Guide for Parents and Professionals)甫出版，
即榮獲美國兩項教育好書優質獎，
包括：2007年的ForeWord Magazine的年度最佳親職教育書籍獎
(Book of the Year Award: Finalist in Parenting Category)
及2008年的全國親職教育出版獎
〔National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA): Honors Award〕，
頗受讀者及出版界的肯定。
