尼爾‧麥葛瑞格

1946年生於蘇格蘭的格拉斯哥，在牛津大學研修德文與法文，後於法國巴黎高等學院（Ecole Normale Superieure）攻讀哲學，並於愛丁堡大學讀法律，1972年取得蘇格蘭律師執照。曾擔任倫敦國家畫廊館長（1987～2002），自2002年8月任大英博物館館長迄今。2010年出版的暢銷著作《看得到的世界史》（A History of the World in 100 Objects），被翻譯成十餘種語文。其他著作：The Museum: Behind the Scenes at the British Museum、Seeing Salvation: Images of Christ in Art、Whose Muse?: Art Museums and the Public Trust等。
